'Emergence’: an afternoon of movement and ikebana, as we leave the cocoon of winter

3rd of October 2pm to 4:30pm
Join Kōra Pilates and Vovo Flowers for a blissful re-emergence into the sun after the cocoon of winter.
Just before daylight saving, Kōra and Vovo are offering a mindful flow class led by Laura Wood followed by some nibbles, wine and connection, and an immersive ikebana-inspired workshop that will help you slow your mind and reconnect with the emergence of spring.
Vovo Flowers is the floral design studio of Coco Venaglia. Based on Wiradjuri land in Naarm, Coco has a background in fine arts and ceramics and was drawn to floristry as a way to reconnect with the majestic wonder of nature and combine these artistic practices.
As a practicing florist for the past 4 years, Coco has drawn creative inspiration from the ocean, fire, and landscapes to communicate the wonder of nature through flower arrangements.
The ikebana-inspired workshop is designed to bring you in touch with the texture and beauty of flowers, and to celebrate connection, simplicity, and nature. You will be guided through the basic principles of the traditional Japanese philosophy of ikebana, and supported to create your own beautiful take home arrangement. There will be options to purchase handmade ceramic ikebana vessels created by Vovo.
*Ikebana is a centuries old tradition, and we pay my respects to the masters of this technique.
Workshop includes:
your own 'flower frog'
an assortment of premium stems to use in your take home arrangement
option to purchase your own ikebana vessel on the day
2pm to 2:45pm Kōra Flow Class guided by Laura Wood
2:45pm to 3:15pm Nibbles & cool down
